November 15 at the High
Desert Museum,
Bend., and returns at 5 PM on the 16th. Visit the major units of the John Day
Fossil Beds, as you review changes in climate through time, along with Oregon’s geologic past.
Tour the lab with scientists, to learn exactly how ancient climates are
deciphered, and what it means for the future.
Collect some 45-million-years old tropical leaves to take home as a keep-sake, and explore the
much older terranes and their fossils of the dinosaur age. Includes two 5-mile
hikes across open country. Overnight in Dayville. Trip includes
transportation, double-room
